Nipper

Nip the Cat turns 21 today!

Every morning, it’s a wonderful surprise to get out of bed and hear her greet us with a hoarse screech — she didn’t croak in the night!

Oh, I know one day, sooner than later, she’ll have to take her leave of us, but for now it’s a delight to have her around. She represents a huge chunk of our life, and when she’s gone it won’t be “these days” anymore, it’ll be “those days.”

I’ll use the occasion of Nip’s birthday to remind everyone that my $1.99 promotion of Yesterday Road starts in earnest today, so if you haven’t snagged a copy, get yours for two bucks less than everyone else paid here. ‪ Tell all your friends too!

Also, I learned from the organizers of “The 50 Self-Published Books Worth Reading (2013/14)” — Indie Author Land — that this is indeed primarily a popularity contest, so if you haven’t already nominated Yesterday Road, please take a minute to do so here. We have till April 21.

I’m told that they will be selecting a couple of books in each genre that might not have received sufficient votes, based on quality, but why risk it? Help a guy out and vote!

Finally, if you see any promotional tweets today about the book, please retweet to your followers. I’ve already seen one from Choosy Bookworm, but there could be more.

Now I’m going to see if I can get Nip to blow out her 21 candles…

Nip is beautiful (and what a great name for a cat). Happy 21st, Nip! I imagine her birthday cake is made from the contents of various canned cat food … oh, yum (not!).

Nip’s name reveals her age, really. It’s from an old Seinfeld episode (and I’ll say no more about that!).

So far it looks like she intends to sleep all day…
