Kevin Brennan Writes About What It's Like

Blue notes

I post this mini-concert by Bill Frisell only for the first number, really. Lennon. “Nowhere Man.” The words aren’t so much what I’m latching onto right now, but the mood Frisell creates with his effects and spareness. See, we had to say good-bye to our old friend, Nip, this week, and it’s been hard to be anything but kind of pensive and removed. Her 21.5 years represent the best years of my life (so far). We’re really going to miss her, but we sure don’t want that streak to end now that she’s gone.

The other tunes on the 20-minute video are “In My Life” and “Strawberry Fields Forever.” It’s nice to let the whole thing play in the background while you do other things.

This is really lovely, Kevin, and a lovely way to express how you are feeling. Been thinking about you and Sue a lot …

Thank you, dear. We just picked up her little wooden box today, and she’s in a place of honor until we move to our new house up in the hills…
