In almost any big city in the world — and plenty of small ones too — you’ll run into remarkable performances like this one. Dig this guy’s rendition of Canned Heat’s “On The Road Again” and tell me he’s not better than most of what gets shoved down our throats by the major labels.
Busking has come a long way since I tried my hand at it in London back in the ’70s. Everyone’s electrified now, even some with mics and looping pedals so they can make a big sound. I had a guitar and the awesome reverb of the Underground’s tiled walls. Which was pretty cool in itself.
