Here’s a little respite from a week of non-stop spamming from yours truly. Watch this brief documentary about the remarkable guitarist, Mark Goffeney, who was born without arms but plays like a sumbitch. With his feet.
It’s easy, in the game of indie writing and publishing, to feel a tad sorry for ourselves now and then. Boo hoo, why didn’t I get a book contract with a big advance? Woe is me, nobody’s buying my YA paranormal romance set in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion! Why Jennifer Weiner and not me?
Well, Mr. Goffeney here shows you how to carry on, excel, and have fun — all together at the same time. He’s down-to-earth, he’s charming, and he’s bloody talented. Funny too.
At one point in the doc, while driving around San Diego (steering with his feet, of course), he wonders aloud what it would be like for him to become an Uber driver. I don’t know about you, but I’d request him every time!
Perspective. It’s a good week for me to keep mine on the straight n’ narrow.
By the way, you can snag your copy of Town Father here.
PS — There’s no doubt in my mind that Mark would appreciate the joke in the title of this post.
