Not to sound like a broken mp3 (stuck on perpetual repeat), but it’s not too late to order a paperback of Town Father for Xmas-time giving. Thanks to Max Scratchmann, this pulp fiction (paper pulp, that is) would look great on anyone’s shelf or end table. Even if you don’t read it, the cover is very nice to look at.
Order here. Amazon even offers gift wrapping, and they’ll send it directly to the recipient, if you ask them to.
“Even if you don’t read it.” Ha ha ha
I have your book and at some point I’ll maybe even have time to read it. Wonder if Max needs some more work??
Thanks, Susan! And I’m sure Max is always ready for a new job. Want me to set you two up?
I’m torn between accepting the cover that’s winning the 99 Designs contest, or going for another cover that is more geared toward the series. Just not sure what to do. It’s NOT a comedy caper, the humor is subtle, but it could morph into a caper series. I don’t know where the hell I’m going.
Covers are so tricky. I read something recently by a cover designer who said authors almost always pick the wrong one. They tend to pick the one they like instead of the one that’ll likely sell more books.
Of course, if you’re looking at a series, maybe think in terms of elements that will appear on each one.
That’s why I’m leaning toward the one with the hand dropping to grenade. It has much more clarity to it. The colorfulness of the other one is attractive to me. But there are so many details that would be lost in a thumbnail and many are saying they prefer minimalist and will pick up those covers first. DON’T FORGET to VOTE this go around.
