This is for my wife, who married me twenty-two years ago today. Happened to be a Saturday that year too!
When you love someone very much, you must write a song about her. I did the best I could with the tools at my disposal. (The dog at the end represents her big white mutt, Ned, who became my son.)
Happy anniversary, baby. Here’s to at least twenty-eight more (so we can hit fifty!).
This is so sweet! Happy Anniversary, you two!!!
Thanks, Susan! We have a nice day planned (a hike, of course), but mostly just basking in great memories.
Does she really have a bullet hole in her car door or are you just being edgy there?
She did indeed. Lived in the Mission District at the time, which was a tad scary.
She really can write backward too. π
Had some fun myself in the Mission when martinis came back into vogue, ’98, off Dolores. Such a sad song, Dolores.
Small world. My wife lived on 20th between Dolores & Mission — long before the gentrification got going through there. Bruno’s had great martinis even then … πΈ
I can read upside down and backwards. Does that count for anything?
That’s just weird, man. π
Happy Anniversary You two β€ I say cheers to any woman who could tolerate you for twenty-two years! (JK)
Heh heh. I’m much more tolerable in person than online … π
Congrats Kevin.
Thanks, John. I know you and your wife must be way ahead of us, though … Congrats to you too!
Well we have known each other for thirty years but have only been married 18. So you are the champ.
All the best to you both!
Grazie, amico!
Great ditty Kevin. Congrats to you both!
Thanks, amigo! My, how the time flies …
A belated Happy Anniversary! Frankly, I’m glad my husband doesn’t write songs and sing them to me π Greg and I have been married for 27 years now, living together for 30. Doesn’t seem possible, but, as you know, when you’re having fun …
You guys go back to ’86? Now that is admirable. I’m jealous. I would have loved to experience “We Are The World” with Sue. π
lol!
Well, we started dating in early ’83 but then Greg joined the Peace Corps and left for 2 years. Just depends on what you choose as the starting date π
