Kevin Brennan Writes About What It's Like

Deep dark truthful mirror

Yes, America. You are reflected in Donald Trump’s cabinet nominations. You are, when it comes down to it, a fast food nation, a coal-burning nation, an oil-swilling nation, a climate change–denying nation, a pray away the gay nation, a bomb ‘em to Kingdom Come nation; you’re a Goldman Sachs runs the show anyway nation, an only losers earn minimum wage nation, a pull yourself up by the bootstraps nation where you need a credit card to afford the boots, a kick out the immigrants nation, a kick out the Muslims nation even if they ain’t immigrants; you’re a tell lies if it helps you get what you want nation, a no such thing as facts nation, an every man for himself nation, a too bad you didn’t make the right decisions when you were young nation, an every life is precious nation except if you were born black. You’re a white nation, and a Christian nation, America, even though there’s not much Christianity in your actions. You’re a talk the talk nation, but you don’t even pretend to walk the walk.

The Trump administration: America’s tarnished mirror.

The Truth denying nation is really disturbing to me… I have a bad feeling that we are going to have a bad terrorist attack or be in a big war within the first few years when he takes office.

Yeah, it feels like we’re in for a world of hurt in the next couple of years. There are so many negative scenarios that can play out that at least one of them is likely to happen.

There are so many things I could add here, but you made your point well. It’s just sickening.

Yep, we could put together quite a litany. I’m just affronted that this will all come to represent “America” to people who won’t realize half the country is repelled by it.
