Kevin Brennan Writes About What It's Like

Things Trump has done since last Wednesday

One of these is colossally troubling, but in a week in which we didn’t see as much of the Bloated One he still managed a few other heinous things since March 1:

・Told a group of state attorneys general that the spate of Jewish cemetery desecrations and bomb threats against JCCs had been committed by liberals “to make others look bad.”

・Said Jeff Sessions shouldn’t recuse himself from Justice Department investigations of Russia/Trump campaign ties hours before Jeff Sessions recused himself from Justice Department investigations of Russia/Trump campaign ties.

・Accused Obama of wiretapping him during the campaign: “How low has President Obama gone to tapp [sic] my phones during the very sacred election process.

・Revived the Muslim ban by tweaking the original order to end-run around the earlier injunction. Signed this one in private.

・Deprived Gold Star father, Khizr Khan (a U.S. citizen, by the way) of his international travel privileges, which are currently “under review.”

Hadn’t heard of the last one. Imagine that, using the power of the state to target your enemies. Wonder why I’m not hearing about this on the right wing blogs.

We’re gonna be seeing a lot of things we’ve never seen before. (Or at least not since the McCarthy era.)

Good on you for having the stamina to keep at this. It’s a full time job (fool time).

At least a number of people who ought to know (e.g., Clapper) have come out saying that (1) it would have been impossible for Obama to order a wiretapping; and (2) since #45 is the current president, he could have just asked the FBI etc. about it. In other words, he didn’t need to tweet it. Which Clapper also pointed out, in effect, declassified the activity, if it truly even existed.

My husband and I have too many discussions as to whether #45 is truly so delusional that he needs to be fitted for a (gold lame) straitjacket, or all this is just a ruse to keep our eyes off the Russian Connection and the shenanigans of the Congressional Republications … or both.

I hate to think that this is all some big evil strategy, because I don’t think there’s a good way to combat it. The media has to chase after the shiniest object, but it’s different every week. Imagine what history is going to say about us …

I don’t think history is going to say anything good 😦
