WHAT THE HELL

Kevin Brennan Writes About What It's Like

All aboard!

Well, after a week, The Disappointed Housewife has attracted a grand total of 31 followers. That’s a fine start, but if we’re going to get high-quality submissions we’re going to need to be able to offer more than 62 eyeballs to prospective contributors.

In other words, if you haven’t followed her yet, please do. She’ll pop up in your WordPress Reader that way, or in your email inbox.

New material coming later this week that you won’t want to miss. So … follow The Disappointed Housewife today!

That’s a mighty fine start, I reckon, considering my new blog that I launched around the same time only has 7 followers and 10 likes so far … But you can always use more followers so I have shared this post on Facebook and Twitter!

Thanks, Susan! I must be one of those 7, because you’re showing up in my Reader. 😉

Following and keeping an eyeball on things here while writing another novel, short stories, poems, part-time jobbing, dealing with an average 100 emails a day from WP and whatever, you know, to pass the time of day (and night quite often) but at 71, it becomes more important not to waste time. I’ll tell you this, it is hard to find time to read all the “submissions” I get from WP. For a time there I stopped writing and just read, commented and did candid edits for folks. Then that siren voice got very loud and I had to ease off on commenting and do more writing again. I think that we are all learning a new way of communicating through our writings and while it is fascinating to discover the many and esoteric ways people express their lives through their writing there is the downside of finding time to read it all and remember even 2% of it. I try to file some emails as of high interest, I have a sub-folder list in my Thunderbird email that’s a foot long! The problem then is one of remembering where whatever was filed and under what heading and what key word to use in search. Fun all around. I’m sure some others will recognize the frustration.

You’re so right. There’s too much out there competing for the eyeballs. Something to be said, though, for following a lot of good things even if we can’t keep up, so the writer knows someone’s out there. That said, I’m way behind in my reading too. 😉
