New “poetry” over at The Disappointed Housewife this morning, and it’s a mind-bender. Reminds me that I’m always looking for work that plays with words and visuals, though I’d probably draw the line at a love poem to your cat that’s in the shape of a cat.
On the other hand …
You could go the whole hog mathematically and jumble the letters in the hat and draw them at random. We eventually get to the old nut of a million monkeys typing for a million years coming up with the works of Shakespeare.
Absolutely. I’m waiting for that first monkey bestseller …
But some words, the more you look at them, also seem like they have no meaning. I can’t stop looking at the word “much.”
Yes writing is strange stuff but I’m sure we know even when we look at Chinese it has some meaning. My theory is it started by leaving a mark which sort of said I was here. The turning of speech sound into marks or scratches so that it can be reproduced is rather like the dots that become music or the grooves that become sound. The thing about the human animal is they can communicate without being present.
I will say that my dog seems to leave messages here and there for other dogs to pick up … š
Hey maybe dogs will learn to read and write , I must get on to Chomsky.
