Kevin Brennan Writes About What It's Like

This week’s affronts

The report on Arizona’s Maricopa County election audit has been delayed because Cyber Ninjas’ CEO, Doug Logan, and two other auditors have tested positive for covid and are “quite sick.” Oh, they’re quite sick, all right. But not with covid. They’re sick enough to think they can help get Donald Trump “reinstated” by casting doubt on Arizona’s election results, i.e., Biden’s victory there. My guess is they’re struggling with a case of cold feet as they prepare to tell the country that Donald Trump actually won Maricopa County. I’d feel a bit sick in their position too …

In the “shamelessly hypocritical” department, Lindsey Graham keeps saying that Joe Biden should be impeached for pulling out of Afghanistan. Literally everyone knows that Trump committed to pulling out by May 1 of this year. Biden extended the deadline to August 31. Graham is trying to gaslight us by tainting Biden with a de facto impeachment so Trump seems less heinous.

Greg Abbott again. This time he’s banned state or local covid vaccine mandates. Never mind that he’s been jabbed thrice. He issued this ban because the FDA gave the Pfizer vaccine full approval, which effectively made moot anyone’s objection to getting the shot on the grounds that the approval was rushed and incomplete. Now it’s just this weird “personal responsibility” thing, and we’ve already learned that there are plenty of irresponsible people out there.

A federal judge has sanctioned a bunch of Trumpy lawyers who filed frivolous lawsuits over the 2020 election. You’ll remember Sidney Powell, the woman who was pretty much the face of the fraud accusations. Well, she and eight others now have to pay the legal fees of their opponents in the Michigan case, and they must attend legal education classes! Oh snap!

The Supreme Court has decided (or, rather, the six conservatives on the court have decided) that it has a better handle on immigration policy than the Biden administration. It ordered the admin to reinstate the “stay in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers, meaning that prospective immigrants have to live in tent cities across the border while they wait for their hearings. I’m just saying, this is what happens when one party (and let’s not pretend the court is objective) dominates any institution. The same court gladly issued stays of lower court orders when the Trump regime asked for them. Those six justices are biased and altering the country’s course in their preferred direction.

Adding insult to injury, the same court yesterday said that the Biden administration cannot extend its eviction moratorium—even in the face of this new covid surge. The court is making Executive Branch policy by proxy now.

And don’t forget Powell, Wood, et al also face disbarment or sanctions in their home states. Heavens, I hope Michigan gets their money from Powell fast since she has that giant lawsuit from Dominion against her.

I hope these people figure out one of these days that they’ve stepped in one big-ass pile of 💩!
